Services and Offerings
MEMORIAL TREE PLANTING
Memorializing loved ones through the planting of a tree is a tradition that goes back centuries. In some cultures it is thought of as the ultimate gift. In planting a tree you are giving life back to the earth and creating a symbol of remembrance that will last forever.
We are offering this service for you and your families to cherish for years to come. For a one-time fee of $400.00, this gift will stand as a symbol of your loved ones for life to come.
How it works:
We have carefully selected specific tree varieties for you to choose from. Upon request, we will give you a listing of trees to choose from along with names and a picture of what the tree may look like at maturity. The selections, planting, care, and location of the trees will be handled by our landscape professional.
Along with the tree planting, a remembrance plaque will be placed at the foot of the tree with an inscription of your choice. Once planting of the tree and placement of the plaque has been completed, we will notify you of the exact location of your living memorial.
Tree genus and species may vary depending on availability and overall quality of that year’s selection.

GRAVE DECORATION GUIDELINES
Quality, not quantity, makes for the beauty of grave decorations.
Maintaining lots with plants on them are the responsibility of the lot owner or family.
A monumented lot may have planting only on the front side of the monument.
The planting area may not exceed the length of the monument nor more than 12 inches from the stone.
Planting is prohibited on non-monumented (flush and slant markers) lots.
Any trees, shrubs, or bushes which do not conform to the landscape plan of the cemetery or which obstruct an adjacent grave, lot, wall or road will be removed and disposed of by the cemetery.
Planting of arborvitae or Texas yews are not allowed.
Crushed stones, wood chips, shells, or marble chips around the stone are prohibited.
Curbing, fencing, hedging, or borders of any kind around graves or lot cause maintenance and safety hazards and will be removed.
The spreading of fertilizer, ashes, or other materials on lots to stimulate or retard growth is prohibited.
Shepard hooks are currently used in areas such as St. Peregrine. You are responsible for making sure these are upright at all times. If a Shepard hook is found on the ground, it will be removed.
Please remove decorations that have become withered or unsightly. The Cemetery reserves the right to remove them to maintain the best appearance of the grounds.
Your cooperation in complying with these rules and regulations will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to preserve the dignity and beauty of St. Joseph Cemetery.
